Lincoln Park Zoo In Chicago
I love the Lincoln Park Zoo! It has been about twelve years since I have been there, but I will never forget the beauty of it! Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago is set in beautiful lagoons and greenery. Although, over the years the Zoo has up dated and changed a lot of things the historical architecture remains the same. Lincoln Park Zoo is open everyday of the year and the admission is free to all! That is amazing; because this Zoo is so amazing I don't know why they don't charge! Well, lucky for us I guess! Lincoln Park Zoo is one of Chicago's main attractions and since it is free you need to go! There are certain special exhibits that will cost you some money, but to see the Zoo itself is free. The beautiful grounds open up at 9:00 am and close at 6:00 pm. The building along with the farm opens at 10:00 am and closed at 5:00 pm. During the summer weekends the grounds are open until 7:00 pm and you can count on some special events on Memorial Day and Labor Day. During the winter season the grounds close at 5:00 pm and the buildings close at 4:30 pm. Seeing the amazing animals and all the different species were enough to amaze me as a kid! However, the Lincoln Park Zoo has added some really entertaining features for the kids. During the Christmas season there is the Santa Safari. Kids will get to take a picture with Santa will be surrounded by exotic creatures. There is the Giant Snowglobes that features all the favorite holiday characters kids recognize. If you want something for the whole family to do, then try the Family Crafts and temporary tattoo station. Take the kids on the African Safari, which is a simulated ride. For the real little ones there is the Endangered Species Carousel and lastly the Holiday Express Train! Oh and another cool feature is that every single night of the year the Lincoln Park Zoo gives out 3D glasses to its guest. The 3D glasses allows guest to have a unique and special view of the lights. Like I said, one of the best things about the Lincoln Park Zoo is that it is free! Even if you cannot afford to go to any of the exhibits that cost money, you can still get to see the wildlife park for free! If you are on a budget you are more than welcome to bring your own picnic lunch. Throughout the Zoo there are shaded areas to sit and have lunch. Enjoy your time there and take lots of pictures with your little ones; it will be an experience to remember. |
