The Miami MetroZoo
So, the Miami MetroZoo maybe the most exciting and incredible zoo there is! Nowhere else will you be able to see such variety in the animal kingdom in one place. If you like the wild and are intrigued by wild animals then the Miami MetroZoo is so right for you. One of the unique features of this Zoo is that the amazing climate allows for there to be animals on the premise from all around the world! The animals present come from Africa, Asia and Australia and of course there are some home based animals too. Also, all the animals are totally un-caged and roam around together in such harmony! The exhibits are amazing because they made to look like places in African Asia or Australia, you will probably not see this kind of creativity at another zoo. Miami has it going on with this Zoo. If the kids feel like having some hands on experiences, then let them feed the Giraffe's! That is right the little can feed a Giraffe. The feeding station is open everyday from 11:00am to 4:00pm. There is a $2 charge to feed the Giraffe's, but its worth it to see the joy on your kids faces. During summertime it can get real hot in humid in Miami, but there are over 8,000 trees on the premises. There is plenty of shade for everyone, throughout certain parts of the park there are cooling misters along the way and fun fountains for the kids (or adults) to get cooled off in! The kids have a special play area where they can ride the carousel, go in the petting zoo or play in the play ground. The Miami MetroZoo has everything you need to entertain yourself or the kids. Getting around the zoo might be a concern of yours since the zoo is 300 acres! For an additional charge when you get tired of hauling around you can rent a two or four seater bike. This will help to take the load off for a little while, until your legs get tired of peddling multiple people. Well, either way you are going to get a workout! If you just want a place to stand around while viewing something beautiful, I recommend the Wings of Asia Aviary. Here you will get to see 300 very rare and exotic birds from Asia. All these birds are in an open air aviary. The neat thing about this exhibit is that the focus is on showing the connection to these species of birds with dinosaurs |
